stainless steel, automotive paint and patina
60″l x 21″w x 25.5″h
The Anchored Candy series is inspired by fashion and hotrods. They are benches that counterbalance bright automotive finishes and anthropomorphic sheet metal forms with raw blocks of steel. It is furniture simultaneously about desire and structure.

steel, automotive paint and patina
52″l x 26″w x36″h
I’ve started using the color in the same way I used abstraction – as a carefully filtered sampling process. Gathering together images, conversational descriptions and objects I get a feeling for how a color lives with us and use it to create a feeling, an atmosphere of recognition.

2013
formed and fabricated aluminum, steel, patina and automotive finish
84"l x 27.5w x 34.5h
Commissioned for the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Art in Boston to be a part of their "Please Be Seated Program."
Is it Green? This finish was especially exciting. depending on what angle you looking at the bench it shifts in between green and blue. In the compound curves it is pretty exciting, and hard to catch on camera.
If you are ever in Boston, go and visit it at the museum - the "Please Be Seated" program allows you to actually sit in it as well... enjoy!
